One body, many parts.
Several weeks ago, we were joined by David and Alisa Gatlin, pastors of Anclote River Baptist Church in Holiday. They are being sent out as part of Calvary Church’s X150 Church Revitalization campaign, and are excited about the work that God has for them to do in the Holiday area.
Tampa Shores is coming alongside the Gatlins, and were able to pray for them and the Anclote River Church body. This is part of our mission to join with other revitalization efforts and is consistent with the teachings of scripture.
The Mission of Multiplication
Two years ago, Tampa Shores Community Church was struggling. Membership had dwindled, resources were scarce, and leadership was limited. From the outside, it looked as though the church should simply close.
Tampa Shores reached out to nearby Calvary Church, and began seeking God’s will for the future of the small church.
At the same time, Calvary was beginning their X150 program, a campaign that would guide the church through the next 10 years. The celebration of the church’s 150th year of ministry gave rise to a vision that includes multiplying by 100 churches internationally, 25 church plants nationally, 5 new campuses locally and revitalizing 20 churches in the Tampa Bay area.
With the help of Calvary’s X150 Multiplication plan, Tampa Shores has completely changed course. Membership is growing. It seems like every week, new people who are excited about being a part of what God is doing at Tampa Shores are joining the church. Lives are being changed. The gospel is being shared, and a community is being impacted.
We know how important it is for churches to have partners. What a difference it can make to have others praying for you and cheering you on! It is our honor to join with Anclote River Baptist Church and support them in their revitalization.
Will you join us in praying for Anclote River Baptist, as well as David and Alisa Gatlin as they move in faith towards what God has in store for them? At the same time, please continue to pray for the work we are doing in Oldsmar and for the lives that are being changed through the power of God’s Word.
“So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” (I Cor 12:26)
